That is soo funny. When I was still married to a man, I would leave him with the children about once every 6 months. It never failed, after only 30 minutes he would call and give his litany of troubles "I can't find the wipes", "She won't stop screaming"... on and on, ad infinitum. Then inevitably I would get home and the children hadn't even been fed yet, and he was still on the computer. It is an amazing thing they don't all die horribly unnatural deaths.

I often have to remind mine that I carry a large life insurance policy on him, AND I am a pathologist. If anybody could figure out how to get away with murder, it would be me.

I can assure you it is a total miracle that my husband has lived to the age of 53. He's still as clueless as ever. The only thing keeping him safe these days is the fact we had to sell his life insurance to cover some financial losses. And of course the pesky feeling of loyalty to my baby daddy of 6.

Mother, this just hit the spot. We're in the middle of a Sunday-night quarterbacking situation at this instant. Friday (at school) was a very bad day and the consquences, so far? Nada. Aaargh. Grrrr.

Most people think "Disney Dads" are only divorced dads. Not true. So very not true.

My husband and I married after he turned 30.

I think he's come to understand, though, just how difficult it can be to maintain two little people for an extended period of time. He's lucky if I do ANYTHING other than keep them alive during the day.

On the days my husband works, he's gone for a full 24 hours. He can immediately tell the kind of day I've had by my telephone etiquette when he calls to bid everyone a good-night safely from work. He knows better than to judge when I fly off the handle and threaten the kids with bodily harm. Not that I'd ever rip their spleens out of their bodies, but sometimes it just feels good to say so.

Hope you've had a great Mother's Day, and that you've exercised enough self control to not stab your husband. ;)

I could not stop laughing after your comment about suspecting that every woman who has stabbed her husband did so after a comment like that. My husband knows better to not sit in judgement of me and my mothering skills. He can tell just by looking at my face when he walks through the door after work if it's been a good day or a bad day with the kids.

Hope you're having a wonderful Mother's Day!

Wonderful! I can easily see that mother being acquitted by a jury of her peers.
